I have Intel driver version 15.1.1.1 for Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 wireless adapter and Realtek driver version 7.48.823.2011 for Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. While these threads do announce the launch of new Drivers in September 2011, I have newer drivers and still am getting connectivity issues. I have read in the other threads "Dell XPS L702X - Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 Keeps Disconnecting" and "New Dell XPS 15z (L511z) Wireless Card Issues" that Dell has not been successful with its wireless connectivity. There is nothing wrong with both my routers as six other devices (laptops, tablets & cell phones) connect perfectly well all the time at all router settings. I have also tried several combinations (including turning bluetooth off, WMM enabled QoS mode, Medium-Low Roaming Aggressiveness etc) in the laptop's Advanced-N 6230 adapter. I have also tested the connectivity with TP Link TL-WR740N router and have the same limited range connectivity issue on G Band. I have experimented with several permutations in both the routers (including using WPA2-Personal/AES security, 40MHz channel width, mixed mode/wireless-N mode). I am using Cisco Linksys Simultaneous Dual-N Band Wireless Router WRT-610N. Secondly, the wireless range for N band is also limited to half the distance of where other laptops can connect to the router. I have also noted that while the built-in NICs of other laptops connect to my router at 1 Gbps, the Dell XPS L702X with Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller often connects at only 10 Mbps, sometimes at 100 Mbps and rarely at 1 Gbps.
On my new XPS 17 (L702X) with Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 Wireless + Bluetooth adapter, I get a very limited wireless range and am not able to connect to wireless B or G unless I am within a few feet of the router.
